The Isay / Adelsberger video reconstructs a remarkable story of an application for restitution of two paintings by the artist Anton von Stadler (1850-1917). Thanks to recently found archival material, it was possible to establish that the artworks had indeed been unjustly expropriated during the Nazi regime.
The Restitutions Committee advised the Minister of Education, Culture and Science to restitute the paintings to the descendants of the original owner.
To this day Alfred Fass, great-grandson, and his sisters are striving for the restoration of the family’s rights.
